Welcome

I am a passionate creative and have designed and project managed strategic portfolios for almost a decade. Having completed over 120,000m² of commercial space, managing and controlling budgets well over a billion rand, is what makes my design world insatiable and limitless.

It is with confidence that I have stepped into the market, knowing that my expertise can revise, reshape, reimagine and recreate any space. My design style is whimsical, layering each space to transform it into energy-hubs. Working from my spruce home studio, the proprietary movement of taking something ordinary and turning it into extra-ordinary is what reinforces the stamp of quality and creativity with every project, albeit small or large. Each project is handled with care and excellence.

Being mindful of the ecological footprint, I have completed one 5 Star- and two 4 Star Green Rated buildings in South Africa, harnessing natural forces and materials, state-of-the-art technology and the wealth of inspiring ideas to fuse all my designs into surprising wonders.

Nedbank No.5 Silo Building

This was a Grey shell project for Nedbank at the V&A Waterfront in the Western Cape for the Learning and Development Centre which had to relocate from Foreshore and Clock Tower.

2015 - 2016

 

Stylist for Decor Resources SA

Compiled and Published over a 100 home interior styling projects for Decor Resources SA

2014 - 2015

 

Nedbank Kingsmead Durban Phase 2

Nedbank required a 4500 m² extension to the existing phase 1 building, which was built in the early 1990's. This required a new office fitout and moving of staff from various other leased buildings.

2012 - 2014

 

The Majestic & Newtown Junction Building

Both buildings had to be done simultaneously, with Nedbank occupying a total of 36,000m². These buildings received a 4 Green Star SA rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa.

2010 - 2012

 

Nedbank Menlyn Maine (Falcon)

Falcon was the first building to be completed at Menlyn Maine, and was built for a South African Green bank, Nedbank. This 16,500m2 building has a 5 Star Green Rating from the GBCSA, which makes it one of only a few in South Africa. The building is situated in Aramist Avenue, being the first building to be completed in the Menlyn Maine Green Pricinct.

2009 - 2010

 

Nedbank Head Office Phase 2

The project involved the development of the estimated 43,000m² second phase of Nedbank's headoffice in Sandton, with Nedbank taking up the bulk of the office space. The project is designed in terms of best practice for green buildings, with the main emphasis on efficient energy and water usage. The office space of the new development was 40,000m², about 26,000m² of which is occupied by Nedbank, and the balance of 14,000m² is let to outside tenants, and 3,000m² of retail space, including a large Nedbank branch of about 1,000m².

At the first interior design client meeting, I always ask to see around the property, retail- or office space if it is a renovation or remodeling project to give me better perspective when the brief is given by the client. If it is a new development project, I’ll immediately sit down with my client to get to know them and start with the objective of the meeting and working through the drawing pack and project details.

A project questionnaire will be populated to prepare the project charter, estimated budgets & project timelines. If there are multiple stakeholders involved or various site inspections included, separate meetings will be scheduled accordingly to investigate all the requirements to include in the proposal.

The next meeting that is scheduled is to present the client proposal. If approved, we’ll proceed with the next engagement meetings…

The mapping process will start where site measurements are obtained, space functionality surveys & strategy sessions are conducted, design styles and color theories are discussed in detail, succeeded by Theme/Style/Mood Board presentations. Once approved, we’ll start with the detailed designs of the project.

This is the final conceptual phase prior to the implementation of the project. At this stage every detail and specification of the project is documented and presented for final approval.

This presentation will include plans, elevations, perspective drawings, sample boards, furniture layouts , schedule of finishes and all other related services drawings as agreed in the Scope of Work.

Timelines and final budgets are also discussed and agreed upon to commence with the most exuberant part of any interior project; Implementation…

Quotes are obtained and adjudicated. All project deliverables and receivables are implemented according to the approved timelines and project charter.  All the work on site is closely monitored and managed to ensure it is according to the timelines and specification with the emphasis on quality workmanship.

A snag list is drafted on a weekly basis during implementation to make the handover process a pleasant and seamless experience.
